110 V UPS for Marine ECDIS & Shipboard Systems

Highidea Power provides four specialty-voltage UPS families for marine and ECDIS use: LT line-interactive LiFePO4, MT line-interactive lead-acid, D online lead-acid and DT online LiFePO4. One LT1000-110 shipboard deployment used 110 VAC, automatic 50/60 Hz adaptation, an 8 kg LiFePO4 unit and about 3.5 hours of runtime for an ECDIS-related load.

The problem

What you need to solve.

Shipboard navigation, communications and imported equipment may require 110 V and must remain powered through shore or generator disturbances.

Why it's hard

The engineering reality.

  • Ships may use 50 Hz or 60 Hz and experience wide input variation.
  • Salt mist, humidity and corrosion require suitable environmental protection.
  • Line-interactive and online topologies have different transfer behaviour; critical loads may require 0 ms online transfer.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which Highidea model has a quantified marine case?

An LT1000-110 shipboard application used 110 VAC, automatic 50/60 Hz, LiFePO4, more than 2,000 cycles, about 3.5 hours of runtime and an 8 kg unit.

Does every marine UPS provide 0 ms transfer?

No. LT and MT are line-interactive families; D and DT are online double-conversion families. Select online where the load cannot tolerate transfer time.
